This year 89 international students from 27 countries have graduated successfully from the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Russian State University for Geological Prospecting

 

The total number of foreign graduates exceeded 20% of all MGRI graduates of this year. There are 51 bachelors, 14 specialists, 22 masters and 2 postgraduate students, 15 among them graduated with blue ribbon. 
 
A graduate from Angola, Lyudmila Kanimbue graduated from the geological faculty of MGRI with honors. She is planning to get in postgraduate program and engage in self-development. Lyudmila said that she will always remember the field practice in Crimea as a first time she faced the real tasks of her profession. 
 
Robert Nyamugada from Zimbabwe, who graduated from the Hydrogeological Faculty, is also going to continue his studies – he is willing to get master's degree in the Netherlands.  According to Robert, he chose MGRI due to the university's reputation as a high-quality specialized university.
 
At MGRI students always have a lot of opportunities to realize themselves in a variety of areas,” he shares his impressions of studying at MGRI. – For important questions you can always contact international students department and they will come to rescue. I think that a very important factor is that MGRI has established international cooperation with companies and organizations, which also gives students the opportunity to develop and become high-class professionals."
 
Zhasurbek Abduvakhidov from Kyrgyzstan, a graduate of the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics of Oil and Gas, plans to build a career in accordance with his specialty. He is grateful that he made a strong connection with other professionals from geological spheres during his studies. 
 
MGRI has been an alma-mater for foreign students for over since 1947.  Students from more than 71 countries of the world have been successfully studying at MGRI for more than 70 years. The heart of self-government of international students at the university is the Council of Foreign Students (SIO).  It was created with the aim of realizing the rights of foreign students to participate in the management of the educational process by solving important issues of the life of student youth to develop their social activity, support and implement social initiatives.
